Recently, the Qingdao Port Group and the Rizhao Port Group signed an agreement in Jinan, to co-invest 1.15 billion Yuan in the Rizhao container dock.

　　Shares of the newly established container dock company are divided equally between the Qingdao Port Group and Rizhao partners. 844 meters long, and 16-17 meters deep, the new dock takes 470,000 square meters of land. This has been the second cooperative inter-city dock construction and management project since the Qingdao and Weihai initiative. It embodies the provincial government's commitment to building an international transportation hub in East Asian region. In addition, the cooperation will enable the two ports to share resources.

　　Branch [rail? Shipping? Turcking?] lines between Qingdao and Rizhao also opened recently. Both parties are promoting in Linyi and Heze. In about six months, container ships shuttling between the two cities will set off on a daily basis with container transfer volume exceeding 5,000 units.
