In order to boost Qingdao's high-tech industry, government departments of all levels have nurtured new high-tech industries, endeavored to increase the amount of investment and accelerated the construction of high-tech group industry, hoping to make bre akthroughs in fields of information, biological technology, new materials, new resources, environment protection, ocean science etc.

　　High-tech industries operated well in the first quarter of this year with the output value exceeding 57 billion Yuan, rising 39%, and assuming 42% of large-scaled industries' total. High and new technology have been introduced into 40 businesses with 236 enterprises' annual output value each surpassing 100 million Yuan.
