The 2007 Qingdao International Regatta is due to be held in August at the Qingdao Olympic Center. This year's competition is a full dress rehearsal of next year's Olympic game in procedures and rules.

　　The local Olympic committee has completed eve rything possible for this year's regatta: personnel of the central office, the competition venues and the service centers have moved into the Sailing Center, three months ahead of schedule.

　　Unlike last year's event, the time period for this year' match, August 9-24, is identical with that of the 2008 competition.

　　For the audience' advantage, the Committee has adopted slalom, a practice used in Alpine Skiing. In addition, last year's rotation system will also take effect. If well received by athletes, the slalom system will be utilized in next year's Olmpic regatta. The two systems' being used in this year's Regatta embodied the total mesh of the rules of this year and next year's games.

　　The 2007 Regatta will follow the Olympic pattern and its scale will outdo last year's. Because of the game's particular nature, in the course of the event athletes will have to adapt themself to the local climate, the water flow, the waves, wind power and direction etc.
