Statistics of the Qingdao Customs show that the import and export value of the local enterprises totaled 1.5 billion US dollars, increasing 27% over that of the same period of last year. Export increased by 24% to reach 784 million US dollars and import was up 31% to hit 702 million US dollars.

During January the city’s non-state run enterprises enjoyed dynamic export. 465 non-state run enterprises had exports valued 60 million US dollars, 2.7 times more than that of last year. Export reached 138 million US dollars, 11 times more than that of last year. (top86)
