The project of 4 newly built berths
at the 3rd phase of the Qianwan port passed the state-level approval on
September 29th. The project is appraised as the best container wharf with the
longest strand line and the deepest water in the world by the industrial
insiders.
The 3rd phase of the Qianwan port project is located at the north coast of
Qianwan port at the Huangdao Development Zone. The project covers a total land
area of 3.5 km. The overall project will have 7 specialized container deep-water
berths, which have the capacity of handling super-large ships with the loading
capacity from 8,000-10,000 standard containers. The project will be completed by
the end of next year. During the past over 10 years, Qingdao port have set the
aim of keeping up with the development of the world shipping market and the
advancement of science and technology. It has constructed a large group of
deep-water berths, which plays an important role in remaining strong
competitiveness and developing force for the port.
