The around-city forest belt trial project was launched at Chengyang district early last week.

The forest belt is a protection belt between the urban area and the suburb district. It has a total length of 100 km from the Shuyuan reservoir at Laoshan Mountain at the east to Huangshan Mountain at Jiaonan with the width ranging from 500 m to 2,000 meters. After the completion of the forest belt, the city's forest coverage will increase by 10%, which will play an important role in improving the city's ecological environment.
