The city government is to develop a new layout for the local tourism industry, featuring the city's unique tourism resources including the mountains, the ocean, the landscapes, the culture and the shopping activities.

According to the distribution characteristics of the city's natur al tourism resources, the government has set the new layout to be the main road along the seaside at the center and the beaches along both sides of the Jiaozhou Bay on the two wings which will form a coastal tourism industrial belt. Efforts will be strengthened to develop new tourist activities such as the off-shore sightseeing, the aquatic sports, opening tourist routes both along the seaside and to the islands. More aquatic sightseeing projects and facilities will be constructed including the Olympic Aquatic Sports Center and the Ocean Park. The city government will also make great efforts to promote the local festivities such as the International Beer Festival, the Ocean Festival and the Electronic and Household Appliances Exposition to enable the city's brands to be well known both at home and abroad.
