The result of the 2nd National Top 100 Township-level Cities Selection was revealed early last week. All the 5 township-level cities under the administration of Qingdao, Jiaonan, Jimo, Jiaozhou, Pingdu and Laixi were selected. Qingdao becomes the only city with all its township-level citi es selected in China.

The selection is on the basis of the total amount of the economic indicators of the cities. Jiaonan, Jimo, Jiaozhou, Pingdu and Laixi are listed at the 35th, 36, 39, 41 and 88 respectively among all the selected cities. The GDP per person of Jiaozhou has reached 16,457 yuan, 57 yuan higher than the average of all the selected cities. The Shunde city in Guangdong Province is listed at the top of all the selected cities. Altogether 20 township-level cities in Shandong Province were selected. The number is ranked the 2nd among its provincial counterparts.
