The Municipal Party Committee and the Government have implemented active employment policies, done everything possible to create new jobs and achieved a good result this year.

The city's labor and social security bureau provides job creation services to both traditional industries

like trade, catering and tourism and new industries such as logistics and neighborhood services. The city's service industry employed more than 47,300 people, accounting for 76% of the total in the first 10 months this year. The bureau also created irregular jobs for 21,400 people, accounting for 34% of service employment.

Being guided by the market, the labor and social securities bureau also did a good job in providing employment service and has uplifted quality of it's service. Between January to October, More than 11,100 companies have hired 117,800 people with the help of the job centers. Non-public ownership enterprises employed 48,990 people. 6559 laidoffs became self employed.

The city's labor and social security bureau also provided job training to 21,200 laidoffs, 61% of the trainees got new jobs after receiving the training. 470 people became bosses of themselves and employed more than 14,00 laidoffs.

The Qingdao Labor and Social Security Bureau was awarded first prize by the State Labor and Social Security Ministry for their excellent achievements in creating jobs for urban residents.
