On the eve ning of Oct. 12th, thousands of staff members of Qingdao Port and guests from all walks of life gathered at the port, celebrating the 110th anniversary of the founding of the port.

Qingdao Port was founded in 1892 by the government of the Qing Dynasty. Since the founding of China in 1949, Qingdao port has been reconstructed and developed continuously by the people's government. From the beginning of China's implementation of the open-up strategy to now, the port has made great changes. It has completed the constructions of the largest container wharf, the largest crude oil wharf and the largest ore wharf in China and a world advanced coal wharf, which makes it listed at the top among the large ports all over the world. The port has made many kinds of tax payment to the national revenue of 4.4 billion Yuan for the past nearly 20 years. The assets of the port have enormously increased to 10.3 billion Yuan from only 0.5 billion over 10 years ago. Qingdao Port is making great efforts to accomplish the aim of building Qingdao into the international shipping center in the northern part of China.
