Journalis ts from 14 Korean and Japanese media companies interviewed Mayor Du Shicheng earlier this week. Du Shicheng said that Qingdao will further promote the economic and trade cooperation with Korea and Japan This will demonstrate a better image of Qingdao on a wider international stage .

Du Shicheng said the speedy flow of international capital has been an important demonstration of the current economic globalization. A city's capital attraction relies on it's geographical conditions,it's preferential policies and especially it's development space and market potential. Qingdao is now busying building itself be to an international city, speeding up the construction of an economic structure of big industry, maintaining sustainable development, developing the three characterized economies of port,marine and tourism. . In addition, Qingdao is building the four major industrial bases of electric and household appliances, petrochemical, ship-building,auto and container manufacturing, new materials as well as the logistics base. Qingdao is now taking measures to upgrade it's services to investors and to improve the city's basic competitiveness. These measures will make Qingdao more attractive to investors. Du said, Qingdao is willing to carry out increasing cooperation with Korea and Japan so as to gain mutual development. Qingdao supports and takes an active part in exchanging activities in fields of economy and trade, culture and sports.

According to resources,Qingdao is going to hold several large-scale -business- attracting activities in Korea and Japan in mid October. The aim will be to expand the economic and trade cooperation with the two counties.

The journalists from Japan and Korea were in Qingdao in preparation for the coverage of the promotions.
