Qingd ao has made plans for farm lands irrigation in this winter and next spring. More than 10,000 irrigation projects are scheduled, with a general investment of 840 million Yuan.

The focus will be on 5 major projects including water resource construction, water supplying, water-saving irrigation,and water and soil conservation. As concerning water resource project, the city will conserve surface water and cultivate ground water and to newly build 362 water conserving projects. There will be expansion and renovation to some water supplying projects in towns and villages,

On water saving irrigation, the focus will be on a water saving pilot project and an auxiliary project in large irrigation areas; efforts will also be made on upgrading irrigation of 490,000 Mu farm land, developing water saving irrigation in 120,000 Mu farm land.

The work of water and soil conservation will be continued,and 50 square kilometers of soil erosion land will be treated.
