A provincial television conference on recognition of excellent government departments was held recently with Wang Shujian,vice mayor of Qingdao having arranged work to make government affairs public at the Qingdao conference center.

       Mr. Wang pointed out that to publicize government affairs is to make the government honest, diligent, pragmatic and efficient. Departments of all levels should implement the Government Information Accessibility Regulations, and improve the mechanism to make the government affair public. All the departments in charge should apply the Regulations to each specific industry. Those policies closely concerning people's livelihood such as product cost, type of service, charging standard and the working procedures should be made known to all and receive supervision by all.

       At the conference the Qingdao construction committee and the Laixi Government were commended as China's excellent government units in publicizing administrative affairs.
