The 2007 China (Qingdao) International Fashion Week opened recently at Shangri-La Hotel.
Du Yuzhou, president of the China Textile Association dedicated his calligraphy to the festival.
Yan Qijun, secretary of the standing committee of the communist party in Qingdao delivered comments, asking related departments to hold a top-level festival, train professional designers and propel the development of Qingdao's textile industry.
Xia Geng, mayor of Qingdao, also sent a congratulatory letter to the festival.
Chen Shujin, vice president of the China Textile Association, Jiang Hengjie, vice chairman of the China National Garment Association, along with local senior officials and representatives from over 20 provincial governments attended the opening ceremony.
With the theme of "building a way to international brands", this year's fashion week includes 8 activities such as domestic and foreign designer's works show, brand name clothing show, and the fashion industry forum. The exhibition of this year has also tried to engage people from all walks of life to participate by way of brand names introductions, forums and dialogues by professionals, insiders and renowned textile and clothing entrepreneurs.
