A dog owner has paid 28,000 yuan ($4,100) in medical fees for an old woman injured after being scared by her dog.

    When Ning took her pooch for a walk in her housing estate in Nanning, capital of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, the dog barked at a local surnamed Xiao causing her to fall into a ditch and fracture bones.

    Her medical fees will continue to mount because Xiao is still in hospital being treated.

    Doctors said Xiao would have to stay in hospital for several more days.
