A stone-laying ceremony for the Qingdao Haigong Manufacturing Base project of the CPOE under the CNPC was held at the Haixi Bai. The Qingdao Haixi Bai has at once had the top three oil companies' ocean projects, in additi on to its being an important ship and drilling platform manufacturing base across the globe.

　　The CPOE under the CNPC, one of the world Top 500 Enterprises, engages in serving ocean oil engineering projects.

　　The Qingdao Haigong Manufacturing Base cost over 2.28 billion Yuan. Four slide tracks, and docks for loading and unloading engineering ships will be built. The project will adopt the world's most advanced technology and projects to put into use in 2009. It will then be able to manufacturing 98,000 tons of steel, and a variety of drilling platform facilities.

　　As the shipbuilding and repair and drill platform facilities manufacturing projects settled in Qingdao, the Haixi Bay has gathered projects of the top three oil companies in China. It is increasingly becoming a venue for comprehensive manufacturing industries and technology research.
