The old city district repair work along the second East-West Expressway was launched recently, housing stretching east to Yan’an Road 1, south to Yan’an Road, west to Mingxia Road, and north to Taidong Sports Court and involving close to 3,000 househo lds will be dismantled.

　　This reconstruction project is one of the ten priorities of the local government. Areas to be dismantled include Biaoshan Road, Yan’an Road 1, Jianshan Road, Mingxia Road, and Yan’an Road. It covers 90,000 square meters of land with overground and underground building areas amounting to 390,000 square meters, among which 220,000 are for residents.

　　The dismantling work is due to be completed at the end of June whereas the construction starts off in August. A full-equipped modern residential area with excellent surroundings and flourishing economy will soon come into being after the reconstruction.
