¡¡ADELAIDE United coach Aurelio Vidmar will make a
last-minute decision on who will play in goals against Shandong Luneng in China
tomorrow.
¡¡¡¡With so few options available to him, the custodian's position is Vidmar's
only real sel
ection headache heading into the penultimate game of United's Asian
Champion's League debut.
¡¡¡¡Daniel Beltrame played in Adelaide's first two ACL fixtures while Robert
Bajic played the subsequent two matches.
¡¡¡¡Despite United being unable to qualify for the quarter-finals it still has
two Group G matches to complete before the players can take a well-deserved
break.
¡¡¡¡Vidmar said he would assess the form of both keepers in the two days
leading up to the match which has no bearing on Adelaide's campaign but is vital
for the host club.
¡¡¡¡Shandong is five points clear at the top of the group ahead of the South
Korean side Seongnam Chunma.
¡¡¡¡Shandong will know it has a fight on its hands having needed a Michael
Valkanis own goal in Adelaide two months ago to defeat a gallant United side.
¡¡¡¡Vidmar said he hoped the fact there was no pressure on his side would free
it up to play some attacking soccer and secure three points.
¡¡¡¡"There is absolutely no pressure and there is nothing to lose," Vidmar
said.
¡¡¡¡"Shandong need a point at least to keep Seongnam at bay and that might work
in our favour.
¡¡¡¡"I've mentioned to them that I want to win our last two games.
¡¡¡¡"I think there will be a little bit more incentive for this game in terms
of playing in front of 20,000 to 25,000 people."
¡¡¡¡In the group's other game tomorrow night Dong Tam Long An will seek to
secure its first ACL point in three campaigns when it takes on Seongnam in
Vietnam.
