The local traffic control department will carry out a three-month comprehensive improvement beginning from April over Qingdao's taxi industry. By tightening supervision and establishing long-term administrative mechanism, it hopes to improve the order o f the local taxi industry.

　　The four specific measures include the supervision over the station yards, the clamping down on black taxies (a taxi that carries passengers illegally and without a business license), the punishment of acts in violation of regulations such as ignoring marking the prices, and refusing customers' requests; the law enforcement department will tighten checks over taxies in and around train stations, bus and ferry terminals, wholesales markets. The traffic control department will on one hand, come down heavily on those taxies, vans, and vehicles without license plate or with fake plate and on the other hand, carry through the do-what-is-right, rescue-the-dying, return-what-belongs-to-the-owner spirits so as to create a sound people's Olympics atmosphere for the coming Regatta.
