A toddler in Jinan, Shandong, bravely scratched a thief on his face on Saturday, thwarting an attempted purse-snatching.

　　A mother surnamed Zhou was riding a bicycle while her three-year-old son sat on the back. Suddenly Zhou heard a scream from t he back. She looked around and saw a teenager covering his face with his hands as he ran away. Zhou's three-year-old son told his mother that he had scratched the teenager's face because he was attempting to steal Zhou's bag. Zhou alerted police to the attempted theft. Police caught a suspect within minutes. The suspect had two bloody scratches on his face and admitted he had been hurt while committing a theft.
