The DPW(Dubai Ports World) container dock project gained the NDRC's (National Development and Reform Commission) approval and will soon be implemented.

　　East to the Qingdao Qianwan Phase VI construction site and the heart of south Qianwan Port, the 3.48 million Yuan worth Dubai container dock is designed to serve for 50 years. The 1,320 meters dock is made up of two berths for 100,000 and 30,000 tonnage containers ships, respectively. After completion around the year of 2008 to 2009, the dock can operate 2.2 million standard containers or one third of the Port's total each year.Apart from the China Merchants Holdings International and the DPW, shipping magnates of Evergreen-Marine and the Qingdao Haifeng Shipping Company also participated into the project that has engaged foreign, national and individual investments.The state's approval was apparently the last touch to the whole layout of the ports along the southern coast. Ports in the north, central and south will be joining together and the Qianwan will then turn into one big port composed of groups of ports with container throughput exceeding 12 million containers each year.
