Qingdao has been intensifying efforts to improve the new rural cooperative medical system, basic medical service, public medical service and medical talent tra ining in centrality of the building of new socialist countryside and increasing farmers' health in 2006.

　　At the beginning of this year, Qingdao Bureau of Public Health put forward ?the 221 Project?, namely, perfecting rural basic medical service network and public health network, implementing new medical backup for rural project and rural medical talent training project, perfecting the new rural cooperative medical system.
