Joined by 10 cities from China, Japan and Korea, the 2nd OEAED was held recently in Tianjin. Qingdao, as one of the participants, attended the conference, with Xia Geng, Mayor of Qingdao, delivering propositions on how to further cooperat e in the logistics industry in East Asia.

　　Mr. Xia pointed out that over the past two years the member cities have carried out close cooperation in logistics, tourism, manufacturing and environment, which has proved to be effective. With the economic integration being strengthened, the OEAED's role will become increasingly outstanding. Mr. Xia highly praised Dai Xianglong's suggestions to "strengthen the cooperation amongst the member cities, create city cooperation forums and promote the financial cooperation ". He expressed Qingdao's commitment to pushing the cooperation up onto a brand new stage.

　　During the conference Xiao Geng received Ejima Kiyoshi, Mayor of Shimonoseki, Japan. Mr. Xia said, as the sister cities, Qingdao and Shimonoseki have kept a close tie and the win-win result has come from both parties' dedication. Xia stressed that the two cities should further cooperate in logistics, cultural exchanges, communications between the congresses, sailing competitions, and overseas studies etc.
