Qingdao invites overseas investment to auto industry

A presentation for the city¡¯s Auto Industry was held recently in Hiroshima, Japan, the first oversea presentation for its chain auto industry the city ever held in recent years. It marks that Qingdao is attracting outside investment featuring its four major industrial bases.

Vice mayor
of Qingdao Wu Jingjian introduced Qingdao and its investment environment to representatives from 70 auto parts and components producers at the presentation. Officials from the economic commission and Shibei District briefed the development of the auto industry and the building of the car components industrial park in Qingdao.

A representative from Japan said that they were interested with the city¡¯s building of an auto city.

Hiroshima flourished after more than 50 years of development. It¡¯s the headquarters of Mazda, a world famous auto brand and it has 80 car related factories, which is Hiroshima¡¯s major industry.

Building up the four large industrial bases and 5 collective industrial groups are the key development target for Qingdao. The local government has carried out a complete ¨Cauto project for special cars, sedans, trucks and passenger coaches by cooperating with China First Auto Works and Shanghai in other enterprises. There are 120 auto parts factories in the city. But most of them are small factories. ()
