Shangdong - ROK Economy and Trade Seminar was held recently at the Shangri-la Hotel. The People's Government of Shandong Province and the Republic of Korea Consulate General to Qingdao jointly sponsored the seminar.

　　Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Zhang Gaoli sent a letter of congratulation to the seminar. He said Shandong Province and Republic of Korea have developed a good economic and trade relationship since the two sides established diplomatic relations 11 years ago. More than 6000 Korea companies have invested in Shandong Province with a total investment of USD 7.2 billion. Korean surpassed Japan in trade volume and became the biggest trade partner of Shandong province in 2000.

　　The seminar was held to promote the bi-lateral ties between Shandong and South Korea. Vice mayors from different cities in Shandong and some Korean companies attended the seminar.
