Officers of Qingdao Olympic Venues Development and Construction Headquarters revealed that the conceptual plan of the venues of the yachting competitions of 2008 Olympic Games has been approved to be up to the standard of the International Yachting Sports Association. The detailed constru ction plan of Olympic venues is seeking public opinions from home and abroad.

The yachting competition venue is located at the former site of Beihai shipyard. Neiboring the wide Fushan Bay to the south and the city's Central Business District to the north, it is an ideal place for aquatic sports activities, off-shore sightseeing and entertainment facility constructions. The conceptual plan consists of 3 parts, namely, the Olympic competition projects, the pre-competition projects and the after-competition development projects. The pre-competition projects include the Olympic Village, the State Aquatic Sports Center, the Comprehensive Commercial District, the International Cruiser Wharf and the Waiting Hall. By April 25 2003, all the collected plans will be publicized for opinions. The plan collection will be ended by August 30.
