The 2002 China International Steel Conference was held between Sept.14th and 19th. Representatives from the Qingdao Steel Group delivered a speech on the conference. Its Five-daily Overall Control management raised concerns of the participants.

The conference, titled "Renovation and Sustainable Development ", was hosted by the China Association for Steel Industry. The conference attracted international big names and all of the large and medium sized steel enterprises in China.

Representatives from the Qingdao Steel Group exchanged experiences with other participants on their Five-daily Overall Control management. The Qingdao Steel Group is listed among the top 10 enterprises here in Qingdao. The sales income of the group listed top 19 in China in the first half of this year. The group has benefited from the exploration of its Five-daily Overall Control management, namely daily target, daily feed back, daily analysis, daily check and daily wages. The realization of monthly and annual operational and strategic targets are guaranteed by the realization of daily targets.

The Five-daily Overall Control has pumped new energy into the Qingdao Steel Group and laid a solid material and management foundation for its further development. The steel industry is China's traditional basic industry. It has to carry out renovation so as to match with the new economy. The Qingdao Steel Company has taken the lead in gearing up with this tide by making renovation on its management system.
