The City Labor and
Social Security Card has been publicized since August 20.
From then on, all the employees of the governmental departments, social
institutions and all kinds of industries in the city will own the card for each
person. Parts of the functions of the card will take effect from September 1.
The City Labor and Social Security Card is an electronic card with a record
of the detailed information of its owner including name, gender, date of birth
and the employee's ID number. It will be used as an ID card when the local
employees handle the procedures of some labor and social security affairs such
as employment, unemployment and social insurance. The main functions of the card
include to inquire about the regulations and policies relating with social
insurance, labor and social security, to confirm the owner's qualification of
enjoying social insurance policies, to pay medical treatment costs from the
account of the employee's basic medical care insurance, to handle the procedures
of employment, unemployment and skill training. All the employees of the
governmental departments, social institutions and all kinds of industries in the
city, who enjoy the city's social insurance, will own the card for each person.
