As a world-renowned coastal city, the Qingdao marine economy has again witnessed surmounting development and its industrial intensity has continued going up and reached the highest point in recent years. The data issued by the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Statistics last week indicates that according to the preliminary accounting, the Qingdao marine production value of 016 has reached 251.5 billion Yuan, accounting for 25.1% of the total Qingdao GDP and boosting the GDP growth by 3.5 percentage points.
The marine economic and industrial structure is being optimized continuously. According to the preliminary accounting, the first marine industry generated an added value of 10.5 billion Yuan in 2016, increasing by 5.2% over the same period of time. The second marine industry created the added value of 128.7 billion Yuan, increasing by 17.5% over the same period of time. The tertiary marine industry realized the added value of 112.3 billion Yuan, increasing by 13.7%. The ratio among the three marine industries was adjusted from 7.5:42.7:49.8 in 2011 to 4.2：51.2：44.6 in 2016. The percentage of the first marine industry has decreased by 3.3 percentage points. Many advantageous industries including marine fishery, coastal tourism industry, marine equipment manufacturing, marine transportation, and the marine petroleum industry and emerging industries such as marine biological medicine, marine financial service industry, sea water desalination industry, and marine scientific research service industry continuously push forward the transcendental development of marine economy and become the new growth poles of marine economy.

University of Cambridge will co-construct innovation transformation college in Qingdao
The Qingdao Municipal Government, University of Cambridge from the UK and Shandong University jointly signed a memorandum of cooperation in Qingdao on February 9th.
According to the memorandum, the three parties will conduct in-depth pioneering cooperation in innovative transformation field, jointly explore and open up emerging discipline system and multiple types of education projects related to technological innovation and transformation, co-construct innovation transformation college and the international innovation transformation practice base and make joint efforts to build Qingdao into an international innovative transformation capital. BUAA is planning a new science education city in Qingdao
On February 14th, the Qingdao Blue Silicon Valley Administration and Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA) signed the agreement that says that the BUAA Qingdao Science Education New City will settle down in the Qingdao Blue Silicon Valley, Jimo.
According to the agreement, the BUAA Science Education New City will include two sections, namely the BUAA Qingdao campus (including international campus)and BUAA Science and Technology Park. Regarding the BUAA Qingdao campus, at the early phases, the Graduate School and the Microelectronic School will be introduced, 7 disciplines including aerospace, material science, intelligent manufacturing, microelectronics, instrument and meter, intelligent transportation and biomedical engineering will be gradually opened up here. The planned scope of students is no lower than 10,000 and the graduate students occupy no lower than 50%. By considering the industrial features of Qingdao, the BUAA Science and Technology Park will take the priority to hatch and transform scientific achievements in aeronautics and astronautics, cross medical professions, material science, intelligent manufacturing, microelectronics, instrument and meter and intelligent transportation, promote the in-depth integration between related high and new technology and Qingdao industry, boost the economic and social development of Qingdao and become one of the most important transformation bases of scientific achievements next to Beijing.
Bayern teenager training system has been introduced to Qingdao
On February 13th, the Qingdao campus football coach training course kicked off in the Qingdao Sino-Germany Ecological Park, where 180 football teachers from elementary and middle schools in Qingdao began to receive professional training from teenage training coaches from German Bayern Munich Football Club. This is the first time that the German Bayern Munich Football Club officially held training activity in Qingdao. It marks that China and Germany has entered the implementation phase in teenager football training and the Bayern teenager training system has begun to really appear in Qingdao and China.
On October 28th 2016, the Qingdao Sino-Germany Ecological Park and German Bayern Munich Football Club signed the agreement in Germany. According to the agreement, the two parties will cooperate to establish the first Bayern Munich football school in China to train a lot of outstanding football coaches and teenage football players in the coming 5 to 10 years to serve as a pool of Chinese football talents. The football coach-training course this time is just beginning before the substantial cooperation between Qingdao Sino-Germany Ecological Park and German Bayern Munich Football Club.
