Qingdao held a trade & investment promotion seminar in Atlanta, Georgia, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) concerning an economic partnership on September 22. It was attended by government officials from the two sides and nearly 40 chambers of commerce and enterprises in the United States.

Liu Mingjun, deputy mayor of Qingdao and Chris Carr, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, attended the seminar and made speeches. Georgia Governor Nathan Deal was appointed Qingdao economic adviser.
Carr outlined the development situation of Georgia and its economic and trade cooperation with Qingdao. He hoped that Qingdao and Georgia could deepen their bilateral cooperation in industry, finance, education, culture and tourism.

The Qingdao delegation also made a tour of investigation of ReSource Pro in New York City, a company providing business process outsourcing services for the insurance industry. David Watkins, chairman of ReSource Pro, held working-level talks with Qingdao delegation on investment and trade cooperation.
