Qingdao-Yinchun Express phase II project Jimo-Pingdu Express was open to traffic recently. With this, together with Rongcheng-Wuhai Express that connects with Jimo-Pingdu Express, the driving period from Qingdao to Beijing will be reduced, to no more than 6 hours.
Express way is a key part in the modern transportation system, which also symbolizes the degree of the city development. In the past 30 years of reform and opening-up, Qingdao express way started from zero and developed with Jinan-Qingdao express, Jiaozhou Bay express, Qingdao-Yinchuan express, Tongjiang-Sanya express, Qingdao-Laiwu express, Haiyang-Jimo express and Jimo-PIngdu express, with total 700Km, taking the lead among the 15 vice-provincial cities.
The well-developed express network provides great convenience to citizens, it also fundamentally changes the spatial arrangement of Qingdao and make Qingdao a stub-end city into a pivot city. Up to now, Qingdao has fully realized "one-hour economic circle" within the city, and even externally, it takes only 3 hours to Jinan, 6 hours to Beijing and 7 hours to Shanghai.
