    Yesterday afternoon, many government officers have rallied around the call to help the rescue efforts to donation, standing commissioner of the CPC Qingdao Committee, Wang Wei, Li Cengyong, Wang Shujian, Zang Aimin, Zhang Hui, Jiang Jie, Jiang Zhongyu, Niu Junxian, He Jianping and top municipal officials from the People?s Congress of Qingdao, Qingdao municipal government, and CPPCC Qingdao Committee took the lead and took part in the donation. Some office workers in the municipal government assigned their colleagues to make donation on their behalf as they were on business in other cities. The donation from the municipal government officials are over 230,000RMB, 124 officials from People?s Congress of Qingdao donated 17,100RMB donation from CPPCC Qingdao Committee and retired top municipal officials are over 16,000RMB.

    The cadres in districts and county-level government have also rallied around the call to help victims, with donations running into millions of RMB within hours. By 17:00 of yesterday, donation from Shinan District is 45,380RMB, Shibei District, 45,000RMB. In Laoshan District, the district cadres donated about 20,000RMB within 10 minutes to make their contribution to help the people in the disaster-hit areas. In Jimo city, a county-level city under Qingdao?s jurisdiction, numerous cadres are eager to donate for the earthquake ? hit area, the donation from the education & sports bureau is over 18,700RMB. Donation activities were also held in Laixi, Jiaozhou, Pingdu and Chengyang.
