MEXICO CITY, March 21 -- By Friday, at least 76 people have been killed in Guatemala during the Easter vacation, mostly in violent incidents, Guatemala's National Civil Police (PNC) reported.
Among the victims, 44 were killed by firearms and 16 by knives or similar objects, Emisoras Unidas radio said.
Other victims lost their lives in traffic accidents and drowning accidents.
Meanwhile, some 200 people were arrested from Tuesday to Friday for different crimes, while over 100 firearms were confiscated.
