A national-level TV conference on the control of overloaded vehicles was held recently with Hu Shaojun, vice mayor of Qingdao arranging programs to address the problem at the Qingdao Venue.
The clamping down on overloaded vehicles has gone well since it was first launched in 2004. The number of overloaded trucks on road substantially reduced, thanks to the effective measures of the past. The related government departments have tightened monitoring from the very beginning and focused upon trucks that would carry more than the capacity tonnage allows and those illegal truck manufacturers. Electric monitors have been set up in 32 freight stations across the city. The local authorities will also intensify efforts in preventing overloaded vehicles from running back on road again and severely punish those frequently violating the laws and regulations.
