The Qingdao traffic administrative committee has arranged recently the transportation safety work for the National Day Holiday.
The passenger flow of this round will mainly consist of tourists, people visiting relatives, and students with most of the passengers going out before the holiday and flooding back right after Oct. 7. The passenger flow is estimated to last from Sep. 29 to Oct. 7 with Oct. 1 and 7 being the peak time days.
Qingdao projects to transfer over 2 million passengers during the golden week, 6 percentage points higher than that of last year, with the railway transport shouldering 1.42 million men times, and the water and the air, each receiving 400,000 and 160,000 passengers, respectively. The local traffic administrative committee will arrange 3500 long-distance buses each day, and 187 ships and arrange additional trains heading towards Taishan, Lanzhou and Heze in response to the traffic tension.
In addition to the increased number of vehicles, the traffic control department also endeavors to secure the quality of service and clamp down on occurrences such as detention of passengers, over loading, and arbitrary charges and fines.
