The provincial television conference on consumer goods quality and food safety was held recently with Wu Jingjian, vice mayor of Qingdao attending the Qingdao conference.

       According to the overall plan, Qingdao will carry out inspection in eight areas of agricultural products, food, medicine, poultry, industrial products,imported and exported goods. The inspection covers monitoring chemical residues in meat products, clamping down on individual food workshops and illegal food producing and processing, tightening of the market entry, promoting large-scale catering businesses and chain stores, improving supervision, pushing forward standardized service, keeping a close eye on medicine registration, cracking down on fake or low quality products, and checking on the material sites for the aquatic products.

       Wu Jingjian asked all departments concerned to should responsibilities and seriously carry out the inspection and supervision work. He said all should make clear the targets, tasks and steps so that this round of inspection could be well organized, well planned and effective.
