A migrant worker in Qingdao had a lucky escape after he was caught napping on a rock that was surrounded by the rising tide, the Dazhong Daily reported.

　　The young man, who works at a nearby wharf in the city's Laoshan District, fell asleep on the rock at noon.

　　In the a fternoon he woke up, finding he was more than 50 metres from the shore.

　　Rescuers rushed to the scene in a speedboat. But they were unable to land due to the choppy waters.

　　After missing the lifeboat four times, the man finally caught it and was saved.
