BEIJING, Jan. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions destroyed more than 66.21 million illegal video products on the same day, sources with the Ministry of Culture (MOC) said here Thursday.

　　This is the second time China organized the nationwi de activity to destroy illegal video products.

　　An official with the MOC said China launched a nationwide campaign last year to combat illegally copied video products for the protection of intellectual property rights. More than 760,000 video product shops were inspected, with about 165.6 million video products confiscated.

　　during the campaign, noted the official, a group of people who committed illegal copying were captured and turned over to judicial departments. The MOC seized three suspects and confiscated 150,000 illegally copied video products in southwestern Sichuan Province and, in scenic capital city of Hangzhou in eastern Zhejiang Province, four suspects with 420,000 video products were captured.
