Qingdao ship made its maiden voyage in Qingdao sailing base. It is sailing to Xia guan, Japan to memorize the 25 years of friendship between Qingdao and Xia guan.

"Qingdao" ship is 14 meters long and 4.5 meters wide. It is expected to arrive at Xia guan in around 10 d ays. As an ambassador of Qingdao city, "Qingdao " ship is carrying good wishes of Qingdao citizens and will attend various memorial events held in Xia guan. This has a long-lasting and special meaning for both cities.

According to plan, with Qingdao citizen Guochuan as the captain, "Qingdao" ship will continue traveling along domestic coast and across oceans before 2008 Olympics. This is mean to cooperate with Qingdao government to promote city image and Olympics in campaigns concerning trade and tourism that are held home and abroad. As an important part of this promotion, "Qingdao" ship cruise will surely help to improve the reputation and international popularity of Qingdao.
