Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra wants his country to cooperate more
closely with China. He made the remark during talks with the newly appointed
Chinese ambassador to the country, Zhang Jiuhuan.
In Friday's meeting, Thaksin anticipated better understanding between the
populations of the two countries, and especially between younger generations.
Zhang Jiuhuan spoke highly of the rapid development in Thailand over the
past 10 years. The Thai leader will soon visit China to attend the "Third Asia
Cooperation Dialogue Foreign Ministers' Meeting." The meeting starts next Monday
in Qingdao.
